Early Easter Beanie

While browsing Ravelry the other night, I came across the cutest little beanie with ears. I just had to make one up for our baby girl.

With the beanie, I cast on 76 stitches on 4mm DPN’s. I did 1×1 rib for about an inch and then knitted from then on. I started decreasing when the hat measured 6 inches long.

For the ears, you cast on 12 stitches. Row 1: knit. Row 2: purl. Repeat till you have 12 rows complete. Next row, Knit two together, knit 8, knit two together. Purl the next row. Repeat till you have one stitch left. Cast off that stitch. Crochet the two different coloured ears together with purl sides facing each other. Repeat with the other ear. Place ears where you want on your beanie and attach.
